YJSO 2010 4th July Collaborative Concert
Members of the YJSO are invited to join in a collabrative concert at the York Fairgrounds on July 4th along with members of the York Symphony Orchestra, York Youth Symphony, York Honors Choirs and York Symphony Chorus. If you participate a mandatory rehearsal is scheduled for Saturday evening July 3rd. Further instructions regarding where/when to pick up your music, dress code etc..will be forthcoming. To sign up for the York Symphony Summer Music Camps taking place at Penn State York from June 21-25, 2010.
Camps for song writing(morning)and brass and woodwind players(afternoon)are available.

Now accepting Online Applcations for our 2010-2011 YJSO Season
YJSO auditions are open to orchestral and band musicians in 5th through eighth grade or age 10 as of September 30th 2010. In addition they should be under the tutelage of a private music teacher. Click on the "Audition" tab to the left to view our audition requirements and to fill out the online application. Fill in the requested information and submit. You will receive a confirmation by email of your submitted application.

York Junior Symphony Spring Concert
featuring youth in grades 5 through 8 under the direction of Kathleen W. Yeater. This award winning orchestra will present musical selections by Tschaikowsky, Dvorak, Del Borgo, Offenbach and more. The YJSO String ensemble will perform in the lobby prior to the concert.

Congratulations to YJSO Ensemble Groups
Our talented ensemble musicians had a chance to get out and about this year to participate in some performances at York area cultural events. They received lots of compliments and requests to perform at more venues--so many in fact that we have had to turn some away! These young people are our YJSO ambassadors to the community-at-large and in the future we hope to add more ensemble groups to our repertoire. Congratulations and thanks to Kate Jones and Gary Morton!
