Ensemble Directors
 Gary Morton
Gary E. Morton is the Principal Timpanist with the York Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since auditioning for the Orchestra in 1976. He also is the head percussionist with the Spring Garden Band of York. Gary performs with groups such as the Harrisburg Choral Society, the Hanover Community Singers, the Lyric Band of Hanover and churches in the York, Harrisburg and Lancaster areas. Teaching /Conducting positions Gary has held include:Pit Instructor/Arranger, York Suburban Marching Knights; Director of Southern York County Band; Director of Music at Christ Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury; Band Director of Southern York County School District. Gary earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Mansfield State College (now Mansfield University).Gary is a private music instructor teaching lessons on all percussion instruments from his home studio. He resides in the Central York School District with his wife Sandy.
